HELP & SUPPORT
Knowledge Base
The information provided here is intended to help answer the most common questions we are asked. Some of this is specific to products or services offered by Xtra Internet, while the rest is general information provided for your reference.
If you cannot find what you are looking for here, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
- Domains & Hosting
- What should my name servers be set to?
In order for us to host your website the name servers must be set to:
ns1.xtrainternet.net
ns2.xtrainternet.net
- What is your IPS Tag?
Our IPS Tag is "SCHLUND" (without the quotation marks)
- Do you use Windows or Linux servers?
We use high-performance Windows servers, with RAID disk redundancy, regular backups and forced password policy to ensure reliability and availability.
-
Do you 'guarantee 99% uptime'?
Many hosting companies make such claims when in reality it's very difficult to guarantee that you will not be affected by some form of outage
at some point. We feel that the real test is how quickly and efficiently a company acts to resolve these issues, should they occur, and we pride ourselves on being among the very best in the business.
-
My website is not responding - what should I do?
In the unlikely event that your website becomes unavailable, you should call us on 08000 84 24 64 or email us at support@xtrainternet.net and we will work quickly to get you back up and running.
